Obama’s ‘Hope’ is $735,000

One of the three original versions of American contemporary artist Frank Shepard Fairey’s iconic work “Hope” has sold for $735,000.
The other original version of “Hope” made by Fairey, who is known for his activist attitude in his works for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama in 2008, is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery. Taylor Curry, Director of Modern and Contemporary Art at Heritage Auctions, a Dallas-based museum house, said: “We are honored to present this magnificent, striking and important work. Heritage is absolutely thrilled to be a part of this historic record-breaking sale.”
